VIVA LA FRIDA
Mount Dora Center for the Arts , Florida SEP-OCT 2023
I couldn't resist entering the Viva La Frida call for art with this oldie but goodie. Frida Kahlo has had such a massive influence on artists and art lovers, myself included. Her iconic, symbolic imagery is so rich and unique. She is known and revered not only for her art but for who she was and what she stood for - groundbreaking creative expression and fierce independence (not to mention her famous unibrow!). I created Artist's Son as Frida Kahlo years ago as a homage to Frida.

EXIBITED AT BLUE LINE ARTS GALLERY AND WINNER OF
SUNSPOT LITERARY MAGAZINE EDITOR'S CHOICE AWARD
This ceramic sculpture was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's Lady with an Ermine, the iconic Renaissance painting. I wanted to re-interpret in clay. The landscape in the keyhole is from another da Vinci painting. I had no idea what an ermine looked like to be honest! I discovered the most adorable creatures, unfortunately hunted and farmed for their fur. I was delighted to be accepted into the International Clay exhibition at Blue Line Arts in California. My sculpture will also be featured in the 2021 'Geminga' Fall edition of Sunspot's highly selective literary magazine.

CERAMICS MONTHLY MAGAZINE February 2015 issue features
Lilianne Milgrom's article 'Playing with Fire in Paris'
During my last visit to Paris I reviewed a contemporary ceramics exhibition held at the renowned ceramics gallery Lefebvre et Fils that was curated by French critic and writer Alexis Jakubowicz. The works in the show were of particular interest because many of the artists were not ceramicists. They came from diverse disciplines but shared an interest in going back to the tradition of craft and even further back to the very earliest creative material used by Man - clay. Read the article here.

2" of Sin exhibition at Sin City Gallery, Las Vegas
APRIL 3 - MAY 2014
Nothing like a bit of spice to shake off the winter blues. One of my paintings was selected for the much anticipated show that "explores eroticism and sensuality through the lens of contemporary art, with one twist: every piece must not be larger than one foot square." The gallery publishes a 12" of Sin art book to accompany the show. Stay tuned and remember: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...!!

Women of the Book is an ambitious project whose objective is to create a midrashic (interpretive) Torah scroll created on 54 parchment panels (the number of Torah portions) by 54 Jewish women artists from around the world. It is an international, multi-denominational installation that acknowledges the centrality of women’s voices in the texts of our lives. My contribution is pictured at left and was projected during the 2013 High Holiday Services at one of Manhattan's leading progressive and egalitarian congregations, Romemu! I chose to illustrate the text Ki Tavo - read more about my interpretation here.
